Explaining Coronavirus To Children

Adam Asks… A Question

*** A Free Downloadable Story ***

with all the change occurring in the world due to Covid-19 right now, it’s completely understandable that many children are feeling very anxious, and therefore in need of more comfort and support than is usual.

Storytelling is traditionally one of the best ways to help children learn about and understand difficult life experiences because it’s an activity which is very relaxing for them. This is particularly true when stories are read to or with them, by a parent or other trusted adult.

With this in mind, I invite you read “Adam Asks… A Question” yourself and then (only if you consider it appropriate), create an opportunity to read it again with your children. It’s essentially a story about mis-understanding, and is intended as a simple tool to help you begin a conversation about the coronavirus.

Once again please use your own discretion in deciding if “Adam Asks… A Question” is a suitable resource for you, and I thank you for repeating this to anybody else who you feel it might benefit. I wish you continued good health and peace at this time.

Remember to be prepared with as much up-to-date information about Covid-19 as you will need. There are a great number of websites now offering plenty of information from the general to the specific. Here are a few links to get you started. RaisingChildren, SavetheChildren, Unicef.
